Juniper procumbens This procmbens on a rock was created in a workshop with Papa Kanashiro at the 1980 BCI convention in Honolulu Hawaii. It came from one gallon material.

 
Chinese elm Here is another PACIFIC RIM BONSAI COLLECTION tree. It is an imported tree from China. It was designed by Mr. Jiuwei Huang. It is approximately twenty five years old and was imported in
2002. To recognize the contribution of the Weyerhaeuser Bonsai collection to the bonsai community of the northwest, PSBA purchased this elm and presented it to the collection this year. It is the 100th tree in the collection.

 
Chinese elm The noted artist Ikune Sawada started this mame' from a root cutting over 20 years ago. It lived in Seattle for a few years then moved to Walla Walla then back to Seattle again in 2001.

Satsuki azalea This azalea is the Indicum variety called Kaho. The blooms are multi-colored, solid white, solid purple and solid pink. It was designed in a workshop with Joe E. Harris of Oregon in 1998.

 

 
Black pine The planting was created in 1983 from seedlings germinated for a newsletter article. In 1993 it was planted on a piece of red sandstone that had been part of Bob Kataoka's "Ronin" planting. This group is the 2003 PNBCA Convention logo.
