UPCOMING EVENTS

Workshops

Guest Artist Workshops  are generally offered the day before a general meeting by the bonsai artist who will be performing the demonstration that month. Workshops provide members in-depth exposure to techniques, design options and information that they can use to improve their trees. Workshop participants provides their own tree, pot, tools and supplies. Because the workshops are typically held at Bonsai Northwest, these items are available for purchase during the workshop. Guest artist workshops give bonsai enthusiasts a great opportunity to work with a visiting professional artist while working on their own trees.

Workshops may be held on Sunday, Monday, or both. The number of workshop participants is limited and registration fees vary. Alternatively, members may observe a workshop for a small fee.

To enroll in a workshop or for more information, contact our workshop coordinator.

New Member Workshops  are designed specifically for those with little bonsai experience. These workshops (three per year) cover basic bonsai design, wiring techniques, how to repot a tree and what to look for when shopping for bonsai material.  These workshops are offered for a $50 per member fee. The member receives a tree, pot and other supplies.

Most workshops are held at Bonsai Northwest, Tukwila. For more information, see the calendar or contact us.
